Bulgaria
Located on the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria has a rich history dating back to ancient times. Founded in 681, the First Bulgarian Empire was a regional power. Over time, the country faced Ottoman invasions, being part of the Ottoman Empire for almost 500 years until its independence in 1908. In the 20th century, Bulgaria went through a communist period until the transition to democracy and a market economy in 1989.
Ghana
Ghana, located on the west coast of Africa, has a rich history dating back to the ancient kingdoms of Ghana, Mali and Songhai. In the 15th century, the Portuguese arrived on its shores, followed by the Dutch, British and other Europeans. In 1957, Ghana became the first African country to gain independence from colonial rule under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah, ushering in a new era in African history.
